This Privacy Policy is issued by Roman Pieskov ("we", "us", or "our"), the developer and publisher of the mobile applications listed in the section "Applications Covered by This Policy" below (each an "App", and together the "Service"). The Apps are published on Google Play and on the Apple App Store under the developer and seller name Roman Pieskov (on Google Play the Apps were previously listed under the developer name Rona Mobile Solutions). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use any of the Apps.
By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and agree to the collection and use of your information as described here. If you do not agree with any part of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Service.
This Privacy Policy applies to the following Apps, published by Roman Pieskov on Google Play and on the Apple App Store (developer and seller name: Roman Pieskov; formerly listed on Google Play as Rona Mobile Solutions):
The Apps do not ask you to register with a name, e-mail address, or phone number. The information we process falls into the following categories:
When you first open an App, our server creates a random account identifier (user ID) for you and the App stores it on your device. This identifier links your identification history, settings (for example, language and unit system), and subscription status to your account. It is not derived from your name, e-mail address, or phone number.
To identify an object, the App sends the photo you take or choose from your photo library to our servers. The photo and the identification result are stored on our servers as part of your identification history so that you can revisit them, and the photo is passed to the AI provider listed below for analysis.
We keep the list of identifications you have made (your history). We also record how you use the App (screens opened, features used, in-app events such as starting an identification or opening the paywall) through our analytics provider in order to understand how the App is used and to improve it.
Our servers and service providers automatically receive technical data such as device model, operating system version, App version, device language and region, Internet Protocol (IP) address, an app-instance identifier created by the analytics SDK, and a device identifier (the vendor identifier, IDFV, on iOS; the Android ID on Android). On iOS, if you grant the App Tracking Transparency permission, and on Android, where permitted by your device settings, the advertising identifier may be collected by our subscription provider for subscription attribution. Our analytics provider may infer an approximate location (country or region) from your IP address. We do not collect precise location data.
If you buy a subscription, the purchase is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We and our subscription provider receive the subscription status, product identifier, purchase and renewal dates, and store transaction identifiers so that we can unlock Premium features and restore purchases. We never receive your payment card or bank details.
If the App encounters an error, we may collect diagnostic data such as the error message, the screen on which it occurred, the App version, and the operating system version, so that we can fix the problem.
If you contact us by e-mail, we receive your e-mail address and the contents of your message, and we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to resolve your request.
The Apps do not collect your precise location, contacts, calendar, microphone or audio recordings, health data, or financial account details, and do not read other apps installed on your device.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
We share information only with service providers that process it on our behalf to operate the Apps, with the app stores for purchases, and where required by law. We do not sell your information and we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers.
Photos you submit are sent to a third-party artificial intelligence (AI) provider that analyzes them on our behalf and returns the result. By using the Service, you acknowledge and consent to this transfer. Only the photo and the instructions needed for the analysis are sent; your name, e-mail address, and device identifiers are not. The provider processes the photo under its API terms for business customers, which do not allow it to use the content we send to train or improve its models. We do not use your photos to train AI models either. We encourage you to review the provider's terms to understand how your content is handled:
The Service relies on the following third-party platforms for hosting, analytics, remote configuration, and subscription management. These providers process data as our service providers and may collect technical and device information described above:
Cookies are files containing a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. They are sent to your browser from websites and stored on your device’s internal memory. While our Service does not explicitly use cookies, third-party code and libraries used by the Service may use cookies to collect information and improve their services. You can choose to accept or refuse these cookies and be notified when a cookie is being sent to your device. Refusing cookies may limit your ability to use some portions of the Service.
These service providers may access your information only to perform the tasks described above on our behalf and are contractually obligated not to disclose it or use it for any other purpose.
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information. All data exchanged between the App and our servers, and between our servers and our service providers, is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Your identification history and account data are stored in a database on Amazon Web Services infrastructure that is encrypted at rest, with access restricted to authorized personnel who need it to operate and support the Service. Uploaded photos are stored in Amazon S3, also encrypted at rest (AES-256). Each photo is saved under a random, unguessable identifier, and the storage cannot be browsed or listed. To let the App display your photos quickly, each photo is served from a web address (URL) that contains this identifier: anyone who obtains the exact address can open that photo, but the address is never published or shared by us, and it cannot be guessed or discovered by searching the storage. Photos are associated only with your random account identifier, not with your name, e-mail address, or phone number, and they are removed when you delete the corresponding history item or your account. Our service providers are selected for their security practices and are bound by data-processing terms. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a data breach where the law requires it.
We keep your account identifier, your identification history, and the photos you have submitted for as long as your account exists, so that your history remains available to you. When you delete a history item, its photo is deleted with it; when you delete your account, your account identifier, your entire identification history, and all of its photos are deleted from our servers. Analytics and diagnostic data are retained by our providers according to their standard retention settings and are aggregated or deleted afterwards. Purchase records are kept for as long as required for accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution purposes. Support correspondence is kept for as long as needed to resolve your request.
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process your information on the following bases: performance of our contract with you (providing identification, history, and subscriptions); our legitimate interests (improving the Apps, keeping them secure, and preventing abuse); your consent (for the App Tracking Transparency permission on iOS, where requested); and compliance with legal obligations.
Our Service is not intended for use by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 16. If we discover that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete that information from our servers.
Your information, including personal data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you consent to such transfer.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We encourage you to review this page periodically for any changes. Any changes to this Privacy Policy become effective when they are posted on this page.
