Birdium FAQ

1. What is Birdium?

Birdium is a mobile application that helps you identify bird species using artificial intelligence. Simply take a photo or upload an existing image of a bird, and the app will analyze it to provide you with the most likely species, a description, and additional images of similar birds.

2. How does bird species identification work?

Our AI-powered algorithm analyzes the features of your photo—such as body shape, color patterns, beak, and other characteristics—to match it with a large database of bird species. The app then suggests the most probable species and provides a detailed description generated by AI.

3. What kind of photos should I use for the best results?

For the most accurate identification, use clear and well-lit photos that focus on the bird’s body and beak. Avoid blurry or distant images, and try to capture the bird against a simple background.

4. Can I upload photos from my gallery?

Yes! You can either take a new photo directly in the app or upload an existing image from your device’s gallery for identification.

5. How accurate are the identification results?

Birdium uses advanced AI algorithms and a large bird species database to provide accurate results in most cases. However, identification is not always perfect—especially for hybrid species or similar-looking birds. We recommend using the provided information as a helpful guide and consulting experts for critical decisions.

6. What information will I get about the bird?

For each identified bird, you’ll receive an AI-generated description, scientific and common species names, and additional images to help you compare and learn more about the species.

7. Is my photo or data stored or shared?

Your privacy is important to us. When you use the app, your photo is securely sent to a third-party service for identification purposes. Additionally, we store the photos you provide so that you can conveniently view your identification history within the app. You can delete your history and associated photos at any time through the app’s interface. We do not share your photos with any other parties beyond what is necessary for bird species identification. Please see our Privacy Policy for more details.

8. Can I use the app offline?

Birdium requires an internet connection to process images and access the bird species database. Offline identification is not currently supported.

9. What should I do if the app cannot identify my bird?

If the app cannot confidently identify your bird, try uploading a clearer or different photo. You can also use the app’s suggestions to explore similar species or consult an ornithologist or bird expert for further assistance.

10. Who creates the bird species descriptions?

All bird species descriptions in the app are generated by artificial intelligence based on trusted ornithology sources and species databases.
